Why Pray for the Pause?

During an extremely difficult time in my life, after experiencing many tragedies, loss and hurt, God placed this phrase in my mind.  It stuck in my mind and I slowly realized that phrase relates to so many difficult challenges all of us are facing daily.  God was and is still trying to tell me to slow down and become more aware of the world around me.  I continue to struggle, but Pray that I take that breath, that pause, to allow myself to be present in the world around me.  I hope this sight helps brings  that awareness to you as well.

How does P4P relate to me?

Pray that God grant you a moment of grace and direction before you react in anger, say things or make decisions that you will regret later.

Challenges we all face and could benefit from taking a pause:

Having Impatience

Acting on Road Rage

Considering Suicide

Stopping a friend or youth from committing Suicide

Think before:

  • Being Unfaithful
  • Committing Domestic Abuse
  • Drug Abuse
  • Verbal Abuse
  • Child Abuse
  • Sexual Abuse

Have patience and grace when dealing with:

  • People with Mental Illness
  • Others with ADD, Learning Disabilities, etc...
  • Helping with those who are sick
  • Interactions with challenging people

Pray for the Pause when you need to:

  • Be aware of Temptation
  • Stop to consider consequences
  • Need Grace when making a difficult decision
  • Pause to hear God's voice - when knowing how to act or help others
  • Need rest
  • Need carefree timelessness to restore your soul
  • Need to yield to God's will in your life
